Atlantic Motor Inn

The Atlantic Motor Inn in the heart of Glenelg is a very unique building, both in shape and history. Today, the Atlantic Motor Inn serves as one of Glenelg’s most emblematic hotel and restaurant experiences for locals and tourists alike. It is the only 3.5 star high-rise in Glenelg, with a revolving restaurant overlooking the entirety of the Bay, with a walking convenience to the beach and Jetty road.

The Atlantic Motor Inn has a very rich history. Built in 1971, it was originally planned to be part of a series of four cylinder-shaped towers on Anzac Highway.  The Atlantic tower was in fact the smallest of the four towers, with each tower having its own helicopter pad on the roof, designed to have its own helicopter fleet to fly occupants to and from. During the construction, there were financial issues and construction cease. Some ideas were proposed to turn the tower into a casino, but it was essentially left empty and unoccupied for eight years. In 1980, the tower was bought by a local and was completed, becoming the Atlantic Motor Tower Inn

Today, the hotel offers many benefits to its visitors. 2008 saw the Atlantic Motor Inn go through a series of refurbishments, including an increase of 36 rooms for visitors, including 4 premium spa rooms, with the last 16 rooms completed in 2012.

Accommodation is on the 1st, 9th, 10th and 11th floors of the 14 floor building. The rooms towards the top offers magnificent views of the beautiful Glenelg and its surrounding including the beaches, marina and jetty.  Along with the revolving restaurant, the Atlantic Motor Inn is reputable for being highly affordable, offering guests features such as inclusion of wireless broadband as part of the package, as well Foxtel television and stocked mini bars, as well as the option to dine in. The hotel has had many instances of excellent customer service experience, going out of their way to provide maximum comfort.
